Una ventana al horizonte

I am a full-time Professor of Environmental Education at International University of La Rioja (Spain). I received a Ph.D. in Education from University of A Coruña in 2022. My thesis «Educación Ambiental y Participación Pública: Análisis de los Procesos Participativos «Bottom-Up» como Instrumentos de Aprendizaje para la Transformación Social» was acknowledged with the Extraordinary Doctorate Award (2023).

My research interests focus on the motivational, relational and learning processes for citizens’ empowerment in sustainable transitions and social innovations; educational and psychological factors influencing sustainable consumption and green lifestyles; youth engagement in climate action, as well as media and informational literacy and citizen empowerment in community media. She has participated in 12 European ( SMARTEES, CONNECTING NATURE, TRANSIT, GLAMURS, European Excellence Exchange in Journalism-E3J; Survey on Public Perceptions on Environmental Risks😉 national (SOSCOM, Los jóvenes y el Tercer Sector de la Comunicación en España) and regional Research and Innovation projects.

I authored more than 40 publications in scientific journals, books and book chapters. Her last book “Youth and Environment”, which gained large media coverage, analyses the factor influencing climate action and best strategies to persuade youth people to engage in environmental protection. I has large experience in media activism. I am the former president of the community radio station CUAC FM (2002-2005), and member of the board of directors of CUAC FM, AMARC-Europe and the Community Media Forum Europe. I am current President of Institute for Psychosocial Studies and Research «Xoán Vicente Viqueira».
